Title: Deep Learning Technology and Its Recent Developments

Professor Chin received his B.A.Sc. degree from the University of Toronto in 1972, and his M.S., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University in 1974, 1975, and 1976, respectively. Prior to joining The University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 1985, he had taught at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; the University of California, San Diego; the University of Alberta and the Chinese University of Hong Kong; and at the University of Texas at Dallas in 1989-90.Professor Chin was the Chair of the Department of Computer Science at HKU and was the founding Head of the Department from its establishment until December 31, 1999. Since then, he had served as the Associate Dean of the Graduate School and the Faculty of Engineering. He is an IEEE and HKIE Fellow and his research interests include design and analysis of algorithms, machine learning, and bioinformatics. Professor Chin is now an Emeritus Professor and Honorary Professor at The University of Hong Kong. He was the Founding Director of the Deep Learning Research and Applications Centre (funded by HK Research Grant Council) at Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (2016-2018).He is now one of the founders of DeepTranslate Limited, a venture on machine translation based on Deep Learning Technology at Hong Kong Science Park.

Title: Information Weighted Inversion for Particle Size Distribution Recovery in Dynamic Light Scattering

Professor Jin Shen obtained his B.S. degree from Northeast Heavy Machinery Institute, China, in 1985, the M.S. degree from China Agricultural University, China, in 1996, and his Ph.D. degree from University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, China, in 2004. He is currently a professor in School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (SEEE) at Shandong University of Technology (SDUT), and the member of academic committee of SDUT, director of the professor committee of SEEE. He has completed over 30 research projects, including Frequency Decomposition Characteristics of Dynamic Light Scattering Signal of Ultrafine Particles supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Fractal Character of Dynamic Light Scattering of Particles supported by the Natural Science Foundation of Shandong Province, On-line Measurement of Grain Moisture during Drying Process supported by Ministry of Agriculture of China. He has published over 200 scientific papers, and received the Science-Technology Progress Prize of Shandong Province for three times. Dr. SHADI M.S. HILLES is a Project consultant in Research and Innovation in Al-Madinah International University, currently working on Project entitle ”Development of cyber security holistic theoretical framework (CyberSecHolisticFrame) in data and information fusion to recognize cyber terrorism in cyber space” and “Enhancing University curriculum to achieve requirement of advance technology by migrating to industrial revolution 4.0” he is established 4.0 industrial Revolution center in MEDIU, also He is membership of SPIE-The international Society for Optical Engineering, He has published in indexed journals such as ISI and Scopus, and has book chapters in Springer and IGI, Dr. SHADI has presented papers in several conferences included IEEE and was one of track chair of IEEE conference. He participates in numerous project of computer science in courses, workshop and trainer in Computer network and in computer vision fields. He is a main supervisor for PhD and master students and was examiners for postgraduate students, under his supervision there are 3 PhD students have graduated in image processing field and wireless networking,  9 master students in image processing and in cryptography and network security, he is one of research development team and editorial manager in MEDIU journal.

Sunil Kumar Jha received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in physics from Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, India, in 2003 and 2005, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from Banaras Hindu University, India, in 2012. From 2012 to 2014, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with Kyushu University, Japan, and Hanyang University, South Korea. From 2015 to 2017, he was an Assistant Professor with the University of Information Science and Technology, Macedonia, and also with the University of Information Technology and Management, Poland. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. His research interests include chemical sensors, data mining and pattern recognition aplications, renewable energy, visualization, and animation. He has published 63 papers in reputed journals. a special issue on Secure Control of Cyber Physical Systems in the IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems in 2015-2017. He serves as the General Chair of the 23rd International Symposium on Mathematical Theory of Networks and Systems (MTNS 2018).
